GROUP PROGRAMS

K'tantanim (age 4.5 by the week camper attends Kadima)
Our “littlest” campers are introduced to Jewish camping with energetic and nurturing counselors, who provide special care to make sure our youngest campers feel safe and secure. The K’tantanim camping experience provides building blocks that foster a love of Judaism and prepare them for future camping adventures!

Hokrim (entering 1st and 2nd grade)
The stage is set for our Hokrim campers to make new friends while “investigating” the wonders and magic of their Jewish identities and community. Hokrim campers are energetic and excited to experience new things. Interactive activities provide them the basis for an exciting adventure into the past, present and next century of Judaism.

Tsofim (entering 3rd & 4th grade)
Tsofim campers continue the friendships that they have made in past years and make new
friends, widening their Jewish community. The activities planned for Tsofim will enable them to
develop new skills, and be challenged by new experiences, such as an overnight, as they
“scout out” new adventures. Tsofim are the ruach (spirit) of camp!

Giborim (entering 5th & 6th grade)
Giborim campers enjoy programs that are designed to acknowledge their growing sense of independence and need for adventure. They are the heroes of our program. Giborim campers enjoy forming close friendships, advanced art projects and developing leadership skills as they help create the strong Jewish Camp environment.

La'atid (entering 7th & 8th grade)
As the elder campers on site, our La’atid group develops their experience and love of Judaism.
They will have a sense of autonomy and community as befits their age group. Emphasis is placed on self-esteem, Tzedakah and Mitzvot. La’atid campers will leave Camp Kadima knowing that they have made a difference. Special aspects of this program include going out into the community for activities, Mitzvah projects, and two overnights.

La’atid campers use their developing leadership skills as “buddies” to younger campers. The La’atid experience is the fertile ground for our future CIT’s, camp staff and community leaders. This program is offered for 2 weeks only.

Counselor-in-Training - CIT (entering 9th grade)
Camp Kadima's Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program bridges the gap from being a camper to being a staff member. The program combines leadership training and hands-on experience working with younger campers. A limited number of qualified applicants are accepted for the CIT program. Applicants are excepted into the training based on personal interviews, community participation, program applications, references and the needs of Camp Kadima’s population per session. Those who successfully complete the CIT program will be eligible, when entering 10th grade, to apply for a position as a Habonim junior counselor at Camp Kadima.
